Appalachian Jacob’s Ladder is a rare plant and listed as Extirpated in Pennsylvania. It thrives in wet areas such as bogs, wetlands, along stream banks and seeps. It produces blue to violet, bell shaped flowers. The compound leaves are green and leaflets are oval in shape. It’ll form clumps from its horizontal rhizomes or spread via seed. Its flowers are pollinated primarily by native bees. This native plant is in dire need of help due an extreme amount of habitat loss due to human development.
