Iris versicolor

This native iris blooms from May-July with bluish to purple flowers. Leaves are green to bluish-green and lance shaped. Northern Blue Flag Irises are usually found in areas with high moisture, such as stream banks, swamps and marshes. This plant is perfect for the center of a rain garden! Once established, it’ll self seed itself or spread by its rhizomes. It attracts native bees, such as bumblebees and long horned bees. This is a host plant to several moth species.
