Coming Spring 2022!

Solidago caesia

Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod produces yellow flowers along its leaf axils. It has dark green leaves, which turn purplish towards the end of season. It grows to the height of 1-3 feet. This goldenrod will tolerate some shade. It’s not aggressive compared to some of the other goldenrods. In the wild, it’s often found along woodland edges, clearings and open woods. This native plant supports many of our native pollinators! It’s one of the last blooming goldenrods.

Note: Goldenrod does not cause hay fever as its pollen cannot become airborne. Its pollen is too large and heavy. It’s designed to adhere to insects as its means for reproduction. Ragweed is usually the culprit for hay fever because its pollen is airborne and happens to bloom the same time as Goldenrod.
