Aristolochia macrophylla

Dutchman’s Pipe is a perennial vine that’s native to eastern North America. It’s also known under botanical names Isotrema macrophyllum and Aristolochia durior. Leaves are large and heart shaped. The flowers are quite unique as they look like little pipes or pitchers. Flowers are usually yellow to red in color. This vine is deciduous with fast growing, twining stems. In the wild, it can be found in moist woodlands or along streambanks within its native range. Dutchman’s Pipe is a host plant to the Pipevine Swallowtail.
