Kalmia latifolia

Mountain Laurel is a flowering shrub native to Eastern United States. This shrub is typically multi-stemmed and may be found in cool woodlands. I usually find them on rocky and mountainous terrain. Leaves are green, glossy and evergreen. When in bloom, the clusters of showy white to pink flowers usually cover the entire shrub. When you find a wild patch in bloom, it’s a sight to behold! I’ve observed large butterflies and hummingbird moths visiting its flowers. Mountain Laurel thrives best in part shade and cooler soils.
