






Chelone glabra
This moisture loving native perennial produces tubular, white flowers that resembles a turtle’s head. Flowers may be tinged with pink. They typically bloom from Aug-Oct. It’s often found in marshes, along stream banks, low meadows or wet woodlands. A nice option for rain gardens! This plant will slowly spread by rhizomes or self seed. Bumblebees are the primary pollinators. This is a larval host plant to the Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly!
